Scroll Tree Osteopathy is owned and operated by Amanda Maier, RMT, D.O.M.P. Amanda graduated with honors from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2006 where she specialized in treatment of neurological conditions. She went on to join the team at Physio Connection in Bedford Nova Scotia where she maintained a diverse and busy clientele from 2006-2010.
While employed at Physio Connection Amanda continued her education by obtaining certification in John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Therapy. She underwent certification as a Personal Trainer in 2006 and was employed with Nubody's Fitness for a period.
Motivated by a love of learning, Amanda has recently graduated from the College d'Etudes Osteopathiques in May 2016 where she was the recipient of the Coup de Ceour Award in recognition of excellence for her research thesis entitled 'The Heart as the Body's Central Fulcrum: A Qualitative Study'.
Since graduating from her Manual Osteopathic program, Amanda has continued to upgrade her training by obtaining certification in the fields of advanced lymphatic drainage, paediatric treatment, chronic pain treatment, embryology, and mindfulness in the field of Osteopathy.
Amanda is a dedicated therapist who treats her clients on an individual basis. Her manual therapy includes treatment of physical pain, maintenance of current health, and prevention of future tissue injury with focus on the patient as a whole person. Home care is included so that each client may participate in an active role in their path to better health.
In addition to treating people from all walks of life, Amanda has a keen interest in women's health and paediatric treatment. Helping prepare women for birth and providing treatment for infants and babies post-birth is a wonderful way to help transition women into motherhood. In addition to Osteopathic treatment, Amanda is a certified Sacred Pregnancy and Sacred Birth Journey educator, and is a current Womb Awakening apprentice with the Fountain of Life Institute. This training, together with Osteopathic care, allows Amanda to support women fully on their journey towards total health.
On a more personal note, Amanda has a passion for art, learning, travel, and humanitarian work. She is honoured to serve on the Heshima board as Secretary and Sponsorship Co-Ordinator.
